Remortgaging often requires mortgage admin that, let’s face it, most of us wish we could avoid. It can feel impossible to wade through all the different options out there. Weighing up when to remortgage, what mortgage type to choose and whether to stick or twist when it comes to lenders are just some of the decisions you’ll need to make.

So, when Sian came to the end of her fixed-rate deal, she decided to work with a broker to help her compare the market and find the best remortgaging options. 

We turned things around after a bad broker experience

Unfortunately, Sian found that not all brokerage firms provide a personalised, careful service. Though the broker she first spoke to helped her find her original mortgage, they seemed less keen to listen to her remortgage requirements. It worked out as a more cost-effective option as it allowed Sian to keep her original mortgage’s loan-to-value ratio low (and therefore access the most competitive rates).
